| Descripción : | The objective of this research work was to evaluate the effect of density in cattle transportation, by analyzing the carcasses of 96 animals transported with three different densities. This, in order to determine their health, taking into account the variables of presence, quantity, degree and bruise or swelling location. This research was carried out from July 2019, with a duration of three months in the technological abattoirs of the Saquisilí canton located in the Province of Cotopaxi. The bruises reveal that the animals that were transported with low and high densities obtained the highest percentages regarding the presence of contusions with 60.87 percent and 41.46 percent respectively, proving to be inadequate densities for transport. Bovines transported with médium densities had the lowest percentage (25) of bruises. In conclusion, it was determined that the use of inadequate densities regarding cattle transportation is decisive for the appearance of bruises in carcasses, and that, in order to carry out a effective transportation of cattle, its necessary to consider each area per animal must be considered, considering the well-being for an adequate quality of the bovine carcasses. |
