| Resumen : | El turismo es uno de los sectores que genera mayor actividad comercial para el Ecuador; más aún en la región insular en donde el flujo turístico incrementa constantemente. La implementación de un EcoHotel en la Isla Isabela ayudará a promover el turismo ecológico en las Islas Galápagos; actividad que se encuentra en pleno desarrollo debido a la rica diversidad de flora y fauna existente en la zona, junto con la pluriculturalidad que el turismo genera a través de sus visitas. Actualmente, el sector hotelero recibe incentivos por parte del gobierno ecuatoriano, el mismo que facilita financiamientos con el fin de incrementar el desarrollo del sector. Además, es importante señalar que la llegada de turistas internacionales hacia las Islas Galápagos se ha incrementado en estos últimos años, lo que beneficia directamente a todos los hoteles a causa de la demanda existente. Por todas estas razones, se expone a continuación una propuesta llamada Paradise EcoHotel Cía. Ltda., un proyecto hotelero concebido con los turistas internacionales en mente. Como objetivo principal de mercado, Paradise EcoHotel espera acoger a todos aquellos turistas provenientes de Europa y los Estados Unidos que oscilan entre los 35 y 65 años, y quienes tienen un estilo de vida alto o medio alto. Otro factor importante para la implementación de este proyecto, es la existencia de una gran variedad de hoteles, hostales y pensiones en las Islas Galápagos; muchos de los cuales han sido creados y diseñados para brindar a los turistas la opción de escoger su mejor experiencia de hospedaje. Sin embargo, la Isla Isabela no cuenta con una infraestructura hotelera que concuerde con la demanda turística que recibe. En consecuencia, esta disparidad entre oferta y demanda turística es la razón que respalda la creación de Paradise EcoHotel Cía. Ltda. |
| Descripción : | Tourism is one sector that produces more commerce and business for Ecuador; which is vital in the island region where the touristic presence increases steadily. The implementation of an EcoHotel on Isabela Island can help promoting eco-tourism in the Galápagos Islands, an activity that is constantly expanding due to the rich diversity of flora and fauna in the area, coupled with the multiculturalism that tourism generates. Nowadays, Ecuadorian government is providing some benefits towards the hotel sector; mainly through granting credit and financing projects in order to increase the development of the region. Besides, it worth noting that the flow of international tourism to the Galápagos Islands have increased in recent years, which directly benefits all hotels because of the high-demand for these sort of services. For all these reasons, and having international customers in mind as well. This project, Paradise EcoHotel, has been brought to life. In simple words, this is a hotel willing to serve and welcome to the specific market consisting of all tourists coming from Europe and The United States; especially those ranging between 35 and 65 years, who have an upscale and refined lifestyle. Another factor to consider towards the implementation of this project is the existence of several inns and hotels inside The Galápagos Islands, most of which have been created and designed to give tourists many options for choosing the best lodging experience. However, Isabela Island does not count with the appropriate infrastructure to cover its high visitors-demand. Consequently, this imbalance between supply and tourism-demand is the main reason behind the creation of Paradise EcoHotel. Additionally, as of today there is no regulation or a legal code in Ecuador to establish and concede the title of "EcoHotel"; which is why the project is written taking in to account international technical reading. This is done mainly as way to achieve the proper certification in the ecological hotel category, following the highest quality requirements according to world-class standards. As a result, Paradise EcoHotel will optimize the booking process and sales time by designing strategic plans, which in turn will provide the correct information about the services being offered at any time. In addition, the hotel will use effective business plans in order to minimize errors and avoid unnecessary costs. To attain these goals, the hotel should count on a team of highly trained personnel, putting special emphasis on reaching full knowledge of the responsibilities, skills and functions required for each position within the organization. This last point has been developed in order to provide top-notch quality service to all guests, as well as to provide each staff member the capacity to immediately respond and solve any conflicts or technical difficulties that may arise. |
