Descripción : Objective: To determine the prevalence of dental malocclusions after orthodontic treatment in patients from 18 to 35 years old, who attend the UDLA Dental Center during the period September - October 2017. Materials and Methods: A clinical analysis was carried out taking into account the dental position of 60 patients who had orthodontic treatment and fulfill all the inclusion criteria, in addition, some questions were asked regarding their orthodontic treatment. Subsequently, all the data was collected and the results were statistically analyzed. Results: According to the molar relation, Class I of Angle had a higher prevalence (83.8%), followed by Class II (13.3%), and finally Class III (3.3%). There was a high frequency of interferences when performing right canine guidance (68%), left canine guidance (71%), and anterior guidance (68%). In addition, midline deviations (55%) were observed, as well as other types of malocclusions in lower percentages such as bis a bis bite (11.7%), crossbite (3.3%), or deep bite (3.3%). Conclusions: The results show that there is a considerable prevalence of dental malocclusions after an orthodontic treatment, which are related to the behavior of patient during the treatment or related to faults by a professional who is not specialized in the subject.
