dc.descriptionThe environment caring is one of the current issues that have a great impact on the worldwide population. In this context control over water quality is one of the most discussed arguments, since its importance lies in everyone who consumes or uses it. In this way the quality of the water to which all people have access should be optimum and free of any factor that can make the vital liquid not suitable for its use. The Inga river located in Tumbaco parish is situated near the garbage dump El Inga, which throw-outs the treated wastewater to the river. However, many people near the river are not content with the characteristics of the river water after the dump began its functions. This investigation work proposes the design of a wireless transmission system that allows the monitoring of different water quality parameters of the river Inga, in order to know the state of water quickly and efficiently. Jointly, it is proposed to construct a didactic prototype that will allow demonstrating in a simple way the operation of the mentioned design. The design is proposed using a sensor that measures different water quality parameters such as pH, turbidity, conductivity, etc. This data is processed in a microcontroller and then sent wirelessly to a monitoring station located in the landfill. Finally, this information is displayed through an interface in the computer, and the data is saved in an Excel sheet. The prototype basically performs the same function in scale and in a didactic way, using one sensor (turbidity) and radiofrecuency transmission modules for sending data. The final functionality of the prototype can be seen in a scale model.en
