Descripción : A dynamic, playful and contemporary reading space was redesigned for elementary children of the Liceo del Valle Educational Unit, solving the institution's needs to comply with the parameters demanded by International Baccalaureate (IB) delegates The library was not suitable for elementary school students (6 to 12 years old) due to the lack of graphic and industrial design, causing a low attendance and therefore including in the children's appreciation of reading. As a first step the needs of the school (design, required regulations, delivery time and allocated budget) and expectations of different users were known. Then, a graphic and industrial proposal was designed and implemented in the short term. Finally, a validation of this proposal was made to identify the improvements that allow a redesign. For the development of this project an investigation of all the components that influenced the process of conception of the space was realized. Likewise, a user-centered methodology was used, which allowed to discover the needs of the target audience. In this way a process of investigation was carried out to direct and indirect users to complete the diagnosis the three magnitudes of the design (desirability, feasibility and viability) of the reading site. Thanks to the collection of information provided by the groups consulted, it began to design the elements to be implemented in the children's library. For the building stage, we worked with several suppliers and a manufacturer assigned by the institution to implement the furniture. The library was finally delivered on November 25, in compliance with what was initially agreed upon by the institution. Already implemented all the changes in the library, the site validation was executed, measuring the acceptance and functionality of the space, thus achieving the objectives outlined in the initial proposal. In the end it was evident that the new reading center of Liceo del Valle is a site that promotes the spontaneous visit of the students, solving the problem that the library had before, thanks to the results of tabulations.
