| Descripción : | This investigation was meant to observe how the management of ulcers due to pressure was, on patients in the Geriatric O.R. called “NUEVO AMANECER” at “CENTRO DE REPOSO SAN JUAN DE DIOS”, located in “EL VALLE DE LOS CHILLOS”. In order to fulfill this, a qualitative research was carried out, in which nurses were observed while taking care of these ulcers, based on an observation guide, formed by items placed to classify interventions to know: if these are been handled correctly, if the risk factors have been identified, if there are enough supplies, If healings are made under an sterile Technique, if the patient is comfortable and has bathroom access, if Norton tests are applied, among others. So as to get a real feedback, wo statements have been placed, these are YES and NO. At the end, to sum Up, the most positive result is taken as the last one. This investigation, threw two results; at “CENTRO DE REPOSO SAN JUAN DE DIOS”, nurses are successfully fulfilling most of the items counted out of the guide. However, it is important to highlight that the result with the lowest percentage is still a risk factor in the emergence of ulcers due to pressure, on the elder and bedridden patients. Finally, this results showed that the staff is taking good care of ulcers due to pressure, despite not having a guideline on how to do it. |
