Descripción : ELECTROMECÁNICA DE SERVICIOS S.A.-MECASER is a company dedicated to the commercialization of hoists, cranes, spare parts and components of the Damage brand. These tools facilitate the handling of materials in diverse industries. In addition to these products, MECASER also sells supplemental tools such as cables, cabins and rails. The company has been in business for over 25 years, and there is the need to enter new markets, retain its existing customers, and organize its operational and human resources area. This investigation presents an improvement plan that will help increase the effectiveness of company and efficiency and consequently improve its profitability. An internal diagnostic was conducted to help the company identify its strengths and weaknesses. Its strengths lie in the excellent product that they market and the knowledge of their technicians shown in the service and sales the company has. Meanwhile, its weaknesses are mostly focused on the lack of functions and manuals of processes, and the lack of current liquidity. Through the external analysis it was also determined that MECASER can take advantage of a great opportunity - the modernization and innovation of the industry, which will enable the company to market its products taking into account that in 2014 this expenditure was 1.58% of GDP. On the other hand, the company must take action to protect itself against the negative effects of the import restrictions implemented by the Ecuadorian government since 2013. In a market research conducted among current customers, it was determined that 80% of them are happy with MECASER S.A. services and product offerings. The mining industry is also highly attractive for the company; 87.5% of respondents said they would be willing to buy Damage hoists and cranes in order to facilitate the movement of their equipment, thus reducing their maintenance times. The investment required for the implementation of this plan is $ 274,919.77. After conducting a financial assessment, it was determined that the implementation of this plan is viable considering it has a NPV is $ 1, 018,529.58 and an IRR of 32.5%.
