Descripción : The general objective of this certification work is to build a computer system for speech recognition, which has been named SICV, to control the lighting of a house. This system integrates the following tools: IBM VIA VOICE DICTATION RUNTIME V.8 .0, responsible for the recognition of words and the execution of commands for a specific action, IBM TTS V. 6.4, which performs text-to-speech and MICROSOFT conversion AGENT V. 2.0, who provides a set of services that support 3D character animation. The SICV allows the user to visualize in a simple way the on - off of the bulbs in the different rooms of a house. The SICV has been implemented in VISUAL BASIC V.6.0 and the underlying database in MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2000. The methodology used in the development of the SICV in the Unified Software Development Process of Rational Rose (RUP), which uses the Requirements management, iterative development, visual modeling, quality verification through the tests carried out in the SICV, component architecture and change control. Its use ensures the quality of the software within the established deadlines and budgets. The specific objectives of this degree work are: 1) to present the existing voice recognition tools in the international market for the implementation of lighting systems in a house. 2) Use a form of man -machine interaction that allows a house to be illuminated by voice commands, in such a way that the interfaces used in the applications of the computer applications are replaced by speech recognition technology, which makes the link between the user and the system mar the natural way of communication between people. For this reason, it is not necessary for the user to have a special ability to handle the SICV. The application uses two input - output modules in the lighting system. The first consists of the speech recognition engine, through which the application extracts information from the user is oral commands. The second module is the speech synthesis engine, which is the means of presenting the results. So that the user can see the lighting of the bulbs located in the different dependencies of the house, a model that represents the structure of a building is integrated into the system.
