Resumen : El presente trabajo toma como tema principal a la delincuencia, en especial la delincuencia en el centro histórico en la ciudad de Quito…
Descripción : While Quito, Ecuador is a city acclaimed for its beauty and prestige, there is still a lingering shadow of fear in the Historical Center that has affected many of its habitants. This shadow is otherwise known as delinquency, and is not only a problem of theft, but of enduring psychological problems for the victims as well. The following thesis work follows the idea of delinquency focusing on the area of the Historical Center of Quito, and includes two essential parts; theoretical and audiovisual. The theoretical consists of investigations on delinquency, while the cinematic component incorporates the written investigation to visually show the everyday lives of Ecuadorians with respect to theft. The written work analyzes in depth the many forms of delinquency, the causes and the psychological effect theft has on the victims. While investigating these ideas, it was also important to develop an understanding of the mindset of the victim, for example where they become constantly suspicious of crime even when it is not present. Another aspect of this thesis was working through phases to create an effective audiovisual piece. Combining the technical qualities such as equipment, human support, production schedule, locations, actors and script and applying them to the central theme of delinquency and its effects created a piece where the spectator feels as though they take the role of the victim. The video not only captures the principle actor..
