Descripción : Sheep breeding in Ecuador is in charge of small producers, most of whom are farmers or indigenous people, so the animals generally do not have good sanitary or productive management, even so, they become a primary source of sustenance. economical for its breeders. The production systems are divided between extensive, intensive and their intermediates; However, the majority of sheep are growing in extensive systems, feeding on kikuyo (Pennisetum clandestinum) and native plants, clearly guaranteeing the survival of the animal. Due to this, sheep generally have a low yield; and they are affected by various acute parasitic diseases. Cysticercus tenuicollis is a metacestode that causes weight loss and diarrhea, causing the animals to become cachectic, it tends to generate cysts that affect different tissues of sheep, causing even lower productivity in the animals. This research was carried out in the Metropolitan Public Company of Rastro Quito, in February 2020, whose objective was to know the frequency and distribution of lesions caused by Cysticercus tenuicollis in the white and red viscera of sheep, through pathological analysis and the using software called ImageJ. 1,526 sheep viscera were inspected; finding a total of 222 animals affected by Cysticercus tenuicollis. The frequency of presentation in terms of the sex variable, it was found that the most affected animals were males (175 equal 78.8 percent), the structure with the greatest involvement was the omentum (101 equal 45.5 percent) and the place was analyzed of provenance, in which the province with the highest number of animals that presented Cysticercus tenuicollis cysts was Pichincha (94 equal 42.3 percent).
