| Descripción : | Animal welfare is defined as The state of an animal in relation to its attempts to adapt to the environment (Boom, 1986). The animal can adapt without much effort, successfully or it can fail in, which can lead to death. On the other hand, Duncan and Fraser (1997) talk about the animal with three aspects: experiences, biological functioning and the ability to behave like those of the same species. This definition speaks more of the horse as a living being. Many times, due to inadequate environmental and social management conditions, animals are not able to meet their needs. This causes them to remain in a high motivational state, which results in frustration, stress and anxiety. This problem is very common in stable horses. and it get worse during quarantine processes due to reduced space and isolation. All this produces stress, which is reflected in aggressive behaviors or abnormal habits, that can cause injuries and affect the performance and health of the animal. In the case of diseases affects the development of the treatment. |
