| Resumen : | La problemática de los perros callejeros en el Ecuador es una realidad que se encuentra desatendida, en este estudio se identificó mediante un diagnostico situacional las principales problemáticas que se derivan de la agresividad que manifiestan los perros callejeros de la zona El Panecillo. Usando la encuesta como herramienta metodológica, aplicada tanto a comerciantes que permanecen a la zona como a turistas que transitan el lugar, se identificó que en la zona turística habitan entre 11 a 20 perros callejeros los cuales no son los principales causantes de las agresiones reportadas en la zona, si no que estas se llevaron a cabo por los perros que habitan la periferia de la zona mismos que oscilan la cantidad de 21 a 30 perros. En los escasos registros estadísticos de la autoridad competente frete a la atención por ataques de perros consta que en la zona se han reportado 9 incidentes favorablemente sin ningún caso fatídico. Es importante frente a esta problemática mantener actualizados los datos de perros callejeros que habitan en la zona para poder así proponer una solución factible y viable a este hecho. La mejor estrategia frente a la problemática general frente al maltrato de los animales es la información y educación de los ciudadanos para garantizar así una tenencia responsable de mascotas. |
| Descripción : | The problem of stray dogs in Ecuador is a reality that is neglected, in this study the main problems that arise from the aggressiveness manifested by stray dogs in the area El Panecillo were identified through a situational diagnosis. Using the survey as a methodological tool, applied both to merchants who remain in the area and to tourists who travel the place, it was identified that in the tourist area there are between 11 and 20 stray dogs which are not the main causes of the aggressions reported in the area, if not that these were carried out by the dogs that inhabit the periphery of the area themselves that oscillate the amount of 21 to 30 dogs. In the few statistical records of the competent authority, the attention given to dog attacks is that 9 incidents have been reported favorably without any fatal case. It is important in the face of this problem to keep updated the data of stray dogs that live in the area in order to propose a feasible and viable solution to this fact. The best strategy against the general problema against animal abuse is citizens' information and education to guarantee responsible pet ownership. |
