| Descripción : | Dental caries is a serious disease, infectious, transmissible and of multifactorial origin, which manifests itself in the structure of a dental piece. Oral hygiene is an essential part for the prevention of caries; inadequate oral hygiene contributes to the development and progression of dental caries. The present research work was carried out by reviewing the medical records of those children from 8 to 10 children who attended the Dental Care Clinic of the University of the Americas in the 2018.1 period. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the correlation between the prevalence of caries and the oral hygiene index, by means of the CPO.ceo index and the OLeary Index, respectively. The universe of was constituted by 211 clinical histories, of which 200 clinical histories were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After the review of the statistical analysis, it was concluded that there is no direct relationship between dental caries and the oral hygiene index. |
