Descripción : Alimentos El Sabor Alimensabor Cía. Ltda. is a relatively large enterprise which is responsible for the production and marketing of foodstuffs (condiments, spices, seasonings and liquid sauces). It has been based in the city of Guayaquil since February 5, 1982. The idea of an improvement plan for the company was born from a previous external and internal diagnostic which exposed certain problems that must be corrected in order to strengthen its competitiveness. At present the company has problems in its operational and administrative functions. There is a fundamental lack of a suitable organizational structure that allows role definition, responsibilities and obligations of each of the partners; as well the company lacks a manual of procedures and strategic plan that maintains steady development. Moreover, the lack of a formal marketing department as well as the lack of an efficient system for inventory control and quality limits the growth and development of the company within the environment in which it operates. Through a SWOT analysis and the support staff of the criteria allowed the company to define the objectives of improving the functional areas that are compromised and tap into the different strategic actions to obtain the expected results. In this context, there can be an implementation of a strategic planning for improvement, manual functions and procedures, incentives and training for all staff, implementation of the certificates of ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 qualities and finally creation a marketing department proposed with significant sales force. Finally, the financial evaluation of the plan shows that the proposed improvement is economically viable with an initial investment of USD 232.800, a net present value (NPV) of USD 146.719 for the project and a NPV of USD 30.133 for the investor. In addition, the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was greater than the opportunity cost, with 44.18% and 45.61% in each case.
