Descripción : The interest in this work primarily focuses on children, not in an isolated manner but in a rather integrated way, including the family and educational experiences. Information was gathered through interviews and observations of six different families that attended the Centro de Apoyo Integrado Educativo y Familiar “Kusly”. Observations were made in a variety of different situations and environments to allow for a comprehensive assessment of the children and their families. The principle objective of this investigation is to see how the child's' problematic behavior relates to its families dysfunction. For this investigation it was important to determine the child's' behavior through observations in there varied surroundings such as, the home, school and the psycho pedagogical therapy sessions. These observations determined as problematic, the most repetitive behavior (doubts, insecurities, distractions, disorganization, lack of visual contact, disobedience, aggressive behaviors and problems with communication. If a child occasionally displays these types of behaviors we shouldn't automatically classify them into this dysfunctional group, as child behavior can be complex. On the other hand, the interviews conducted to the parents about their history, family structure, communication, family comforts and social parameters helped identify some characteristics on dysfunctional families. Examples of thisinclude, a mother being overly strict with her children, a lack of communication between a child and their parental units, a lack of support between the parents themselves, including unclear and rigid boundaries. This methodology was able to establish a connection between these familial characteristics and family dysfunction and a child's problematic behavior. As a result it is clear that the hypothesis of there being a direct link between the dysfunction of families and the problematic behaviors in their children has been proven.
