Resumen : La idea de negocio consiste en crear una empresa productora y exportadora de snacks de plátano al mercado chileno...
Descripción : The business idea is to create a company that produce and export bananas chips to the Chilean market. The analysis of the business environment focuses on the food and beverage industry, whose participation as a percentage of the gross value-added in the last decade has been growing (7.3%), representing USD 1878 million for 2010 and 3.3 % growth from 2009. Total exports of industrialized food products grew on average 10.7% (FOB value) in the past five years. This picture encourage the creation of ECUABANANA and its product “BANANA CHIPS”, a snack-based of organic and nutritious bananas, with 80% of its fully industrialized production. ECUABANANA, limited company, will have three capital partners. There will be a management team of four people in charge of management, finance, foreign trade, and five people in charge of a Chief of logistics and production. The competitive advantage of ECUABANANA is based on a quality product, at a competitive price, distributed through strategic alliances that allow an optimal approach to the consumer, while minimizing marketing costs and providing direct client support (Distributor). After an analysis of different countries, Chile was chosen as a target market, which has a GDP per capita of USD 14922, annual consumption of snacks of 1.4 kilos per inhabitant, sales exceeding USD 700 million in 2010 and 97% of its imports of bananas from Ecuador. Of the interviews with experts and applied surveys, it showed a large acceptance of the product, a great potential market and a low share of competitors that export the product at the market goal.
