Resumen : El presente estudio tiene como finalidad analizar la relación existente entre autoeficacia y rendimiento académico en niños de 6 a 11 años de edad en la ciudad de Ibarra...
Descripción : The purpose of this study is to analyse the relation between self-efficacy and academic performance in children from 6 to 11 years old in Ibarra (Imbabura-Ecuador) using a sample of 318 children in school. Firstly, in order to accomplish this objective it is important to explore these two variables and to understand how diverse contexts such as family and school can influence the construction of them. This research was done with the objective of knowing the importance of the children's personal development and the way it can influence their performance in different contexts, specifically, the school context. The epistemology of this study is constructivist itself, it determines that every human being builds and creates its reality in an active and a different way. On the other hand, the chosen methodology offers a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational scope. To collect the data it will be necessary to include the multidimensional scale of child self-efficacy EMA-Infantil, and the academic reports of students of the previous school period compared to the students of the current one. Thus, the statistical analysis will be descriptive and inferential and it will be done through the statistical program Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) in order to compare the data obtained and correlate the self-efficacy and academic performance in children's population.
