Descripción : The food and beverage industry has particular relevance in the economic sector of Ecuador. According to National Accounts of the Central Bank, in 2009 the value added of the industry represented a constant value of 7.5% of gross domestic product of Ecuador, representing USD 1.818 billion. The In the last ten years, the food industry in Ecuador has grown at an average rate of 13.33%, which places it in the growth stage in its life cycle. The main purpose of this business plan is the development of tuna fruit in syrup, through the creation of a company located in the city of Ambato and focused on export markets in the United States, Switzerland and Japan, covering as first target market Los Angeles. The opening of new markets and changes in the tastes and preferences of consumers to maintain a healthy diet, have allowed increased imports of these products, especially organic. The pear in syrup is a solid product which is obtained from processing the chopped fruit with sugar, by heating. This product has a high nutritional content and maintains a characteristic flavor and aroma throughout the year. The four components of current consumption trends are: pleasure (sophistication, variety), practicality (ease and time savings); health and shape (stay healthy, safe and natural products, wellness and appearance and nutrition), ethics (environment and ecology). These factors have an impact on the consumption of canned fruit in America. The proposal can succeed in the U.S. market with a strategy of focusing on niche markets, since the product is consumer preference gourmet trend that has developed in recent years. The financial study and evaluation have revealed the financial viability of this project, these results have been obtained with the use of projected income statements based on revenues, costs and expenses. To start the business operations it requires an investment in the first year of $ 172,210, of which 70% will be input from members and the remaining 30% will be financed with funds from the Fomento Bank, and the third year the investment will be of USD 348.67, financed by the same bank and with input from partners of 50% each. In accordance with the level of sales, costs and the selling prices would generate a positive cash flow from the fourth year. The business plan shows viable, with an IRR of 39.67% and a NPV of USD 908,017, in normal stage and a free discount rate of 13.9%
