Descripción : The present Study took place at Santa Catalina Station. This Station belong to the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIAP). It is located at 3065 meters above sea level. Average annual temperature at this station ranges between 11,37 degrees celsius, with average precipitations of 1500 mm per year, and a relative humidity of 83,62 percent. The floral phenology of miso (Mirabilis expansa) has an importance throughout the reproductive stage and it is affected by climatic factors of the crops environment. So, the BBCH scale is used for the understanding and identification of the phenological stages, being the case to cover the floral stage 5 and 6, each one represented with mesostages, allowing them a detailed description. A population of 42 samples of the crop were monitored, the information of variables obtained and stored were: polar diameter, equatorial diameter and length of floral structure, according to the corresponding statistical analysis, specifically basic descriptive statistics, such as: mean, range, standard deviation, coefficient of variation and variance. In terms of results found in a visual way, a scale is elaborated that includes each change in an optical way, using the BBCH potato scale as a basis. All observations collected during flowering are expressed by heat units, since there are differences between the primary, secondary and tertiary inflorescences. They are determinated by the origin place of the respective floral bunch, which in turn are affected by different patterns. Therefore, the present study provides a basis frame for future phenology research studies in order to improve the productivity in the agricultural sector.
