Descripción : The present study was conducted in the parish of Nono north of Quito-Ecuador, which is 2827 meters above sea level and has a temperature that ranges between 14 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius. Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa), chia (Salvia hispanica L.) and amaranth (Amaranthus sp.L.) were cultivated under controlled conditions, during the months of October 2017 to April 2018. The phenological monitoring of the population of 30 plants was carried out by cultivation by photos and data collection. The quantitative data taken into account were: days after sowing, plant height, polar and equatorial diameter, size of panicles and number of open flowers. The qualitative data taken into account were: color and shape of the plant. With the quantitative data obtained, the descriptive statistics were calculated (mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, variance and range) and with the qualitative data the visual scale was made and described according to the BBCH scale. The phenology of the different stages of the crops was obtained, in the quinoa crop the vegetative stage lasted 63 days and the reproductive stage lasted 83 days, the chia had a vegetative stage that lasted 55 days and a reproductive stage that lasted 91 days, and in the amaranth crop the vegetative stage lasted 58 days while the reproductive stage lasted 88 days. In addition, the temperature data was obtained during the whole period of the crops, with the calorific characteristics necessary for the development and growth of the plants, obtaining in the quinoa 1489.70 heat units, in the chia 1072.76 heat units and in the amaranth 844.34 heat units. Upon reaching physiological maturity, the seeds were harvested obtaining a yield in the population of the quinoa crop 652.2 grams/9m2, in the amaranth crop 429.7 grams/9m2 and in the chia crop 200,2 grams/9m2. In the germination tests 100 percent was obtained in the cultivation of quinoa, 59 percento in the amaranth cultivation and 81 percent in the cultivation of chia.
