dc.description | The attention of the child in the dental practice is of the utmost importance, so the acceptance of the patient towards his treatment begins, and the success of it. Some dentists do not have adequate psychological management in their patients so that the attention becomes difficult, limiting the achievement of objectives. In the present study, the conditioning of pediatric patients was performed with the technique Say, Show, Do. This study consists of the application of this conditioning technique (SSD) in children who come for the first time to the dental consultation, in order to demonstrate the level of acceptance of the technique and how it influences their behavior. The Frankl scale was used to evaluate the behavior of each patient, and thus see the effectiveness of the technique, in two ranges: definitely positive and definitely negative. The children were evaluated in a single appointment. The result that the technique Say, Show, Do, is efficient and influences behavior and has a positive impact on children, since most of them cooperate in a better way when they are explained dynamically and the dentist gets the attention full of the child. In conclusion, it was determined that preconditioning in children is essential, because they will have a positive experience in dental care, without fear, collaborating and trusting with the treating professional. | en |
