Nowadays, air pollution has generated risks in environment and health. Indoor air pollution represents serious problems for humans, causing millions of deaths every year. In Quito, the Secretariat of Environment has nine stations for the monitoring criteria pollutants such as PM2.5 (particles with diameter smaller than 2.5 μm) and CO (carbon monoxide). However, Quito does not have an indoor monitoring network. Indoor pollutant concentrations can be higher than outdoors. It is for this reason that the objective of this work is the implementation of a prototype to estimate the quality of indoor air. The study was performed in a garage of the Granados campus of the Universidad de Las Americas in Quito, Ecuador. First, the prototype was made and then the sensor PM2.5 SEN077, MQ-7 carbon monoxide sensor and DHT-22 sensor were validated with MicroDust Pro and Thermo Andersen / FH62C14 for PM2.5, Thermo 48i for CO and Airflow Anemometer TA440 for relative humidity and ambient temperature. Measurements were made during a week with the prototype. The results of the sensor used in this study were validated by correlating them with the previously mentioned equipment. In addition, the counting of traffic, people and vehicle movement were carried out to determine the influence of traffic with the PM2.5 and CO concentrations of the underground garage. Monitoring was made to determine the influence of relative humidity, external and internal temperature on PM2.5 and CO. The results show that there is a median correlation between the Thermo Anderson FH62C14 and SEN077 of (R2 same 0.36). There is a strong correlation between the Thermo 48i and MQ-7 of (R2 same 0.77). Likewise, the prototype sensors showed a good correlation with the ambient temperature (R2 same 0.89) and relative humidity (R2 same 0.46) if compared to the measurements of Airflow TA440 and DTH22 sensor. The concentrations of PM2.5 and CO depend on the number of vehicles that enter the parking space which depends on the days of the week. In conclusion, the proposed sensor prototype is an economic and viable option for indoor pollution monitoring.en
