| dc.description | The motivation of this work is due to the fact that veterinarians do not have systematized and up-to-date information to educate pet owners about preventive medicine, an important issue in responsible ownership, affecting animal welfare and increasing the risk of public health problems. Therefore, it was necessary to establish a protocol of preventive medicine in dogs for a responsible holding with animal welfare through a systematic literature review, for its application during the consultation in the veterinary clinic of the University of the Americas. The protocol was carried out using the prism methodology for relevant bibliographic sources, the information search was made, and then the information was filtered, with which the guide was established, which includes topics such as the proper handling of the patient in the consultation, basic preventive health measures for a responsible holding, these being vaccination, deworming, oral care and prophylactic surgeries to avoid diseases that put the animal is life and its physical well-being at risk. | en |
| dc.description.abstract | La motivación del presente trabajo se debe a que los médicos veterinarios al no contar con información sistematizada y actualizada no educan a los propietarios de mascotas sobre medicina preventiva tema importante en la tenencia responsable, afectando el bienestar animal e incrementando el riesgo de problemas de salud pública por lo cual se vio la necesidad de establecer una guía de medicina preventiva en perros para una tenencia responsable con bienestar animal mediante la revisión sistemática de literatura, para su aplicación durante la consulta en la clínica veterinaria de la Universidad de las Américas. La guía se realizó mediante la metodología prisma para fuentes bibliográficas relevantes, se realizó la búsqueda de información bases datos y posteriormente se filtró la información, con la cual se estableció la guía la cual cuenta con temas como el manejo adecuado del paciente en la consulta, medidas de salud preventiva básicas para una tenencia responsable siendo estas la vacunación, desparasitación, cuidado oral y cirugías profilácticas para evitar enfermedades que pongan en riesgo la vida del animal y su bienestar físico. | es_ES |
