| Descripción : | This research study assesses the impact of periodontitis on the quality of life of patients attending the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of the Americas, we selected 50 patients of both genders carrying periodontitis in varying degrees of severity, to which the questionnaire was applied (OHIP-14Ec), it was found that severe periodontitis affects more proportion to the male gender, than the female gender. In analyzing the relationship between the severity of periodontitis and the level of education, it was evident that the higher level of education will be the severity of periodontitis. The findings in this study showed that the severity of periodontitis did not affect the quality of life and that the male gender has a better quality of life in relation to the feminine gender. Concluding that Periodontitis did not have a negative impact on the quality of life of patients participating in this study. |
