dc.descriptionThe main objective of this study was to evaluate the microorganisms found in removable appliances orthopedic in pediatric patients throughout the investigation, it was confirmed that there is the presence of various microorganisms such as streptococcus cause tooth decay in children, besides existence of dental plaque producing halitosis and poor appearance of removable orthopedic appliance. three methods of hygiene was used to counteract this problem and so patients have better hygiene both their teeth and their orthopedic plate removable, as the first method was used in mouthwash with chlorhexidine (Encident), then by toothpaste Colgate stiff brush, and as final method with effervescent tablets corega tabs. For this investigation 32 removable appliances orthopedic pediatric patients was evaluated in female and male who attended the Clinic of the University of the Americas and the dental office of Health Medical Complex. The sampling was performed in 8 removable appliances used, 8 Encident disinfected with mouthwash, toothpaste and 8 with stiff brush and 8 with pills Corega tabs. The research results are of great importance since from it was possible to determine the most effective method of hygiene removable appliances in appliances where no disinfection method was not applied the presence of microorganisms was 91.67 percent in equipment group where mouthwash was used the presence of microorganisms was 87.5 percent, using toothpaste stiff brush incidence was reduced to 62.5 percent, and the use of effervescent tablets Corega tabs down to 25 percent, with this method as the most effective hygiene.en
