| dc.description | The Management Plan for the development and implementation of the Correct Patient Identification Protocol at the Quito Tenis Surgical Center, 2023, aims to enhance patient safety and care quality during surgical procedures. The focus is on establishing an effective protocol to ensure accurate patient identification before any surgical intervention. The goal is to create an organizational culture centered on safe and high quality care, incorporating preventive and corrective measures in case of patient identification errors. Quantitative and qualitative methodologies were employed to assess the level of knowledge about patient safety standards and gather opinions on safe practices within the organization. The analyzed group consists of 13 individuals forming the Surgical Center´s organization. After applying the methodology, several key questions about correct patient identification were established, revealing unanimous agreement on its crucial importance to prevent adverse events and ensure the safe administration of medications. Participants identified physical barriers, such as the identification bracelet, and emphasized the identification barrier at the head of the bed. Recommended practices were also suggested, including a checklist for double verification, verifying identification with an ID card, systematically asking for the date of birth, and confirming both the first and last names of the patient. The implementation of the Correct Patient Identification Protocol will not only enhance patient safety but also strengthen the reputation of the Quito Tenis Surgical Center as a benchmark in providing safe and quality healthcare services in 2023. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El Plan de Gestión Gerencial para el desarrollo e implementación del Protocolo de Identificación Correcta del Paciente en el Centro Quirúrgico Quito Tenis, 2023, tiene como objetivo principal mejorar la seguridad y la calidad del cuidado del paciente durante los procedimientos quirúrgicos. Este plan se centra en establecer un protocolo efectivo para garantizar la correcta identificación de los pacientes antes de cualquier intervención quirúrgica. Se busca crear una cultura organizacional enfocada en la atención segura y de alta calidad, incorporando medidas preventivas y correctivas en caso de identificación incorrecta del paciente, para ello se usó metodología cuantitativa y cualitativa para medir el nivel de conocimientos sobre las normas de seguridad del paciente y sus opiniones referente a las prácticas seguras dentro de la organización. El grupo analizado consta de 13 personas que forman parte de la organización del Centro Quirúrgico, luego de aplicar la metodología se establecieron preguntas clave sobre la identificación correcta del paciente, se destacó la unanimidad respecto a la importancia crucial de esta práctica para prevenir eventos adversos y asegurar una administración segura de medicamentos. Además, se identificaron las barreras físicas implementadas como el brazalete de identificación y destacaron la barrera de identificación en la cabecera de la cama. Además, se sugirieron prácticas recomendadas, incluyendo un checklist para la doble verificación, la verificación de la identificación con la cédula, la pregunta sistemática de la fecha de nacimiento y la verificación de los dos nombres y apellidos del paciente. La implementación del Protocolo de Identificación Correcta del Paciente no solo contribuirá a la seguridad del paciente, sino que también fortalecerá la reputación del Centro Quirúrgico Quito Tenis como un referente en la prestación de servicios de salud seguros y de calidad en el año 2023. | es_ES |
