In the last condor census carried out in 2018, some of these birds roosts were located and around 150 condors were counted. However, population decline is a concern due to the threats this bird faces, that why it is extremely important to monitor and follow-up in order to gather the necessary information to establish plans and programs for the prevention and protection of this species. In the present case study, the cause and manner of death of a condor that was found in the Morro gorge, in the city of Latacunga, are analyzed. Once the body has been removed, radiographs are taken to indicate the presence of pellets, then the study is deepened by executing orthogonal shots of each of the parts that contain pellets in order to obtain their exact location, and subsequent to this, to perform hydration of certain tissues (since the decomposition of the carcass has been delayed) and thus collect more information about the case study. A fundamental tool to determine the cause and manner of death was the preparation of a forensic report, because this is how the data collected and recorded will contribute to the resolution of the case.en
