Amateur runner athletes participating in road races and sporting events in the city of Quito, need a constant hydration system before, during and after their physical activity in these events. In the case of road races already established, the current hydration system provided by sponsors and organizers had generated an irresponsibility of high environmental impact, from its production phase to its final disposal. In addition to said, the hydration system does not improve the athlete´s performance, generating gastric problems during their participation, forcing the physical effort of the athletes; it should be noted that most of the 20,000 participants athletes do not know the amount or neither the correct modality to hydrate. All this reduced to a service – product that starts with paper cups and plastic bags. That is why the proposal to build a sustainable, biodegradable, interactive and responsible system with the real needs of the athlete has been generated. Conducting surveys, interviews, test pieces, case students and first person studies, were the investigation tools that give the exact list of design determinants with their respective metrics for the generation of conceptual ideas. Finally, a hydration system was generated with a biodegradable and morphologically designed container as a starting point, to a natural cellulose sponge and ending with a recollection network after consumption, for biodegradation or reuse through sterilization. Always designed for the real physical need of the athlete and with environmental responsibility.en
