dc.description | Introduction; The alteration of the intestinal microbiota known as dysbiosis has been shown to have a direct influence on the development of mental illnesses, including Major Depressive Disorder. The human intestine is colonized by almost 100 billion microorganisms and its direct relationship with the Central Nervous System CNS through the intestine brain axis, whose concept refers to the bidirectional chemical messages between the brain and the intestine of mammals, has led and enhanced the realization of multiple investigations into the possible relationship between Major Depressive Disorder and the state of the intestinal microbiota. Objectives; Analyze the relationship that exists between the alteration of the Intestinal Microbiota and Major Depressive Disorder. Identify the causal or associated factors of both dysbiosis and major depressive disorder. Methods; A bibliographic review of articles indexed in the search engines Google Scholar, Pubmed, ScienceDirect and ClinicalKey was carried out, terms such as intestinal microbiota, gut brain axis, Major Depressive Disorder were used. Results; The studies analyzed demonstrated that there is a direct relationship between the intestinal microbiota and mental disorders, Specifically Major Depressive disorder. Conclusions; During the last decade, studies suggest that the relationship between the intestinal microbiota and the CNS through the gut brain axis is fundamental for biochemical balance and mental health, but more research must still be carried out to establish the role in the pathogenesis. of some of the most prevalent neurological diseases. | es_ES |
| es_ES |
