dc.descriptionThe present project called "The Intermodal Transfer Station" is developed through the research provided by the Project Workshop (AR0960), a research that offers an approximation to the expressions and elements of urban centrality, from the dynamics that result of the study of urban-morphology of a sector affected by the spatial imbalances that result from the intense processes of internal and external population mobility that Latin American cities are experiencing. The subject of the Degree Work is adjusted to the teaching model of the ninth semester of the Faculty of Architecture of the subject ARO-960, which proposes the development of an urban plan for a part of the city. The sector assigned in the period 2018-10 is "La Mariscal", the object of my study being to optimize the mobilization for users through an Intermodal Transfer Station that links the city longitudinally and transversally. The project consists of designing an intermodal transfer station of sectoral scale that articulates different modes of travel, optimizing time and needs, creating significant activities to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the users. With its application it will be possible to establish an efficient urban connection between sectors, through the management of mobility and pedestrian flows, as well as take advantage of the mobility system of the Quito metro to generate a pedestrian transfer. Mitigate the impacts caused by vehicular transport through the use of endemic vegetation in the area, generating thermal comfort. Achieving establish public spaces that allow the relationship between the park La Carolina and the equipment.en
