Descripción : This research analyze retrospectively the clinical records of two equestrian institutions with clinical centers, in the city of Quito (Rancho San Francisco) and Guayaquil (Guayaquil Country Club). The aim of the study was to identify the most common diseases that affect equines, threatening their health and physical performance, with negative impact for the equestrian sector. The study has a theoretical approach and a statistical assessment. The study was based on the frequency of diseases from the information compiled through Dr. Bernal in the Club Rancho San Francisco in Quito and Dr. Acosta in Guayaquil Country Club. In total, 74 clinical records were analyzed between the two centers. A comparative statistical analysis was carry out using the program SPSS for the Chi-square test, in order to obtain the significance that exists among variables. Results showed the main pathologies with respect to age, sex, geographical location, animal sport and resolution. The most common diseases in equines are digestive, traumatic, reproductive and respiratory pathologies. In fact, digestive pathologies rated first as the most common issue for the two centers of clinical care. In addition, there was no significant difference between the common diseases, nor about the origin of the equines. Which evidence the need of count on with more research processes within this area. The information generated by the study contributes to veterinary doctors in charge of the two centers, since they can obtain statistical data to expand their local information for the care of their equine patients.
