Descripción : The aim of this project is to present the song called "Mente" by "Los Vallejo" band, explaining the steps that were made in the different stages of the process such as preproduction, production and postproduction. In this thesis was applied all the knowledge that was acquired during the carreer as Superior Technician in Recording and Musical Production at the University of the Americas. The musical theme is oriented to the rock genre, and it was created by Daniel Vallejo, who is the lead vocalist and lead guitar of the band. The main objective is to make people know his new album and place the song "Mente" as a promotional demo. In the preproduction phase several tests were made with the band, to instruments, amplifiers, microphones, wire, and so on. The recording process was made in different sessions in the University of the Americas studio. The first instruments recorded were the drums and bass. Then, the guitar and keyboard were recorded. Lastly, it was recorded the voice. The recording techniques depended on the instrument, so the most used were the technique A-B and X-Y. This project was focused on the sound quality of the musical theme, so it was used different mixing and recording techniques. Therefore, the required sound was obtained.
