| dc.description | The present study seeks to explore the subject of the emotional responses of primary caregivers of patients diagnosed with Alzheimer´s in the city of Quito. The research has as specific objectives to know the characteristics, activities and roles of the main caregivers of patients with Alzheimer´s. In addition, to collect information about the well being and discomfort of the main caregivers of Alzheimer´s patients. And finally, to identify the main emotional responses of caregivers of Alzheimer´s patients. The analysis and categorization of information will be executed, referring to the emotional burden that the primary caregiver faces. Also, there will be a description of what is the neurodegenerative disease of Alzheimer´s, origin, diagnosis and characteristics of it. In the same way, concepts such as; emotional burden, role of the primary caregiver and the appreciation of studies carried out with the same theme will be described. Therefore, the general objective is to analyze and categorize the emotional responses of caregivers of Alzheimer´s patients. For that, the development of a qualitative research that corresponds to the emotional responses of the caregivers has been proposed. In addition, a non experimental descriptive method will be used. | dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio busca explorar la temática de las respuestas emocionales de los cuidadores primarios de pacientes diagnosticados con Alzheimer en la ciudad de Quito. La investigación posee como objetivos específicos conocer las características, actividades y roles de los cuidadores principales de pacientes con Alzheimer. Además, el recolectar información acerca del bienestar y malestar de los cuidadores principales de pacientes con Alzheimer. Y por último identificar las respuestas emocionales principales de los cuidadores de pacientes con Alzheimer. Se ejecutará el análisis y la categorización de información, referente a la carga emocional que afronta el cuidador primario. También, se realizará una descripción de lo que es la enfermedad neurodegenerativa del Alzheimer, origen, diagnóstico y las características de la misma. De igual manera, se describirán conceptos como son; carga emocional, rol del cuidador primario y la apreciación de estudios llevados a cabo con la misma temática. Por eso, el objetivo general es analizar y categorizar las respuestas emocionales de los cuidadores de los pacientes con Alzheimer. Para aquello se ha propuesto el desarrollo de una investigación cualitativa que corresponde a las respuestas emocionales de los cuidadores. Además, se utilizará un método descriptivo no experimental.
