dc.descriptionThis research aims to find the causes of early loss of the first permanent molar, causing malocclusions in children, starting from the premise there is a lack of knowledge in society about how important the first temporary molars are. The objective of this research was to determine the factors that contributed to the premature loss of the first definitive molar in children aged 6 to 11 years who attend schools in the parish of Nayón, identifying whether the prevalence of premature loss of the first definitive molar is linked to your diet and - or your oral hygiene and on the other hand recognize if it is influenced by your socioeconomic level. To this end, children who were treated in the connection project of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of the Americas who had an early loss of the first permanent molar were selected, the parents of the selected children were sent a hygiene survey and feeding, and another the AMAI survey to determine their socioeconomic status. It was found that 45.5% of children come from homes of level C +, their relation to the consumption of sugars was 36.36%, when analyzing the hygiene the respondents who brush their teeth are 95.45% belonging to the level C +, 59% do it twice a day and are of level C +, children who do not receive help with their brushing are 72.73% compared to 27.27% who are children who receive help with socioeconomic level C + , 81.82% of children do not use mouthwash and are of level C +, in turn, a similar figure of 72.73% of the children do not use dental floss, being of level C + and it coincides with the children who do not receive help. Brushing time. It is concluded that the factors that contributed to the early loss of the first definitive molar on the one hand was the socioeconomic factor and this influences according to the results in the habits of hygiene and consumption of sugars in the diet of the respondents.en
