dc.description | The aim of the degree project was to compare the most frequent dentoalveolar trauma between the ages of 3 to 4 years and 6 to 7 years of the Carlos Martinez Acosta Educational Unit. In the development of the work, a bibliographic research was carried out, in such a way that we have a concrete knowledge about the terms and their meanings used in the course of the investigation. A comparative study was developed with a sample consisting of 72 students divided into two groups: 30 infants from 3 to 4 years old and 42 children from 6 to 7 years old. To determine the dentoalveolar trauma of the student; first, a survey was conducted to parents to obtain data on the level of knowledge they have about dental trauma, the results helped to know the percentage of children who suffered a dental trauma. 43.8% answered that their child suffered a traumatic injury at ages 3 to 4 years and 38.1% at ages 6 to 7 years. Second, each of the children was diagnosed to observe the most frequent types of trauma in the aforementioned ages, with the following results: from 3 to 4 years, uncomplicated coronary fracture with 71%; from 6 to 7 years old, avulsions with 47%. In addition, it is important to mention that the anterosuperior and inferior part were the most affected, due to falls, bicycle accidents, sports, violent games, among others.
