Descripción : This study aims to compare the prevalence of sensitivity among men and women who bleach and value the behavior of hydrogen peroxide to 35 percent to determine their effectiveness as a color. It is also important to determine which study group has the highest sensitivity index and that there are no clinical data to establish whether there is a statistical difference. Biologically, pain symptoms with the same stimuli at various intensities show that the pain threshold is different between men and women depending on the pathological process, age, hormonal cycle, psychological profile and physical condition of the patient. Methods: Thirty men and 30 women were selected based on the inclusion criteria for those who applied 35 percent hydrogen peroxide, the treatment was performed in three appointments with a duration of 60 minutes that applied three layers of gel. The color was recorded before and after each session with the subjective scales vita, vita bleach, vita master 3D and objective scale Vita EasyShade. Sensitivity was assessed using the 5-point numerical scale and VAS, maintaining a systematic record during treatment. Conclusions: The bleaching therapy with 35 percent hydrogen peroxide is effective for both study groups; color changes were saved from the first to the third period were statistically significant (p menor 0.05). Although post-bleaching sensitivity varies between men and women, there is no significant difference (P mayor 0.05).
