Descripción : The Central Bank of Ecuador in order to provide better services to the Financial Institutions, both Private and Public, and Entities of the Popular and Solidarity Economy, under the direction of its strategic plan, has adopted mechanisms of action to provide a more efficient service in the interbank payment system. The present study titled “Proposal of Redesign of the System of Interbank Payments applying Business Architecture in the Central Bank of Ecuador” will allow to improve its processes and services in the National Payment System - SPI, and will reduce the time in the settlement of the interbank transactions since they will be executed in real time, thus achieving a greater circulation of money in the country's economy. In order to develop this proposal for the redesign of the Interbank Payment System, the TOGAF ADM method will be applied. The fundamental focus of this redesign of the SPI is to reconstruct its current functionality, on new technologies and interoperability standards. The proposed scheme for real-time liquidation (LBTR) is based on queues for the transfer of funds and balances in the accounts of participants in the SPI, available at the Central Bank of Ecuador. This will help to mitigate liquidity risk, financial inclusion as a government policy and responsibility of the BCE, as well as modernize the economy of the country through innovative products, supported by new technologies, expanding access to financial services for the lower income population. From the above, the strategic importance of the redesign of the SPI is concluded, not only for the BCE but also for the National Government and in general for the Country.
