The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of oral lesions in soft tissues in patients with orthodontic treatments attending the comprehensive dental Clinic of the University of the Americas, as well as identify the main causes that may cause a demonstration. For this reason, 30 patients carrying orthodontics were evaluated, and they were given a survey, together with an intraoral inspection by the operator, to check the presence of an injury. Once the sample was collected, the results showed that eighty-six percent of the selected sample presented pathologies in soft tissues, with greater prevalence in women, determining the traumatic ulcer as the main lesion in these patients, followed by gingivitis and gingival recessions. It was concluded that the presence of lesions in soft tissues of the oral cavity by orthodontic treatments is associated with lack of hygiene, gingival biotypes or defects in orthodontic appliances.en
