Descripción : Partial Edentulism or loss of teeth is considered as a multifactorial pathology that in certain cases it will be difficult to access an oral rehabilitation treatment. Today the socio-economic level (SES) influences the moment of access to dental care. Objective: to evaluate the influence of socioeconomic status on partial Edentulism in the adult population aged 40-50 years treated at the UDLA Dental Care Center. Materials and methods: 68 patients (44 women and 24 men) aged 40-50 years who were treated at the UDLA Dental Care Center were randomly selected, signed informed consent, followed by intraoral examination and the classification according to Kennedy was determined taking into account the norms of Applegate. The values obtained from the simplified oral hygiene index (OHI-S) were collected and then the INEC stratification questionnaire was used, which measures the SES according to each person. Results: In the relationship between the socio-economic level and Kennedys most common classification for partial Edentulism, it was established that it was Class three in both the upper and lower B and the lower C more (Typical Medium). In addition, 64.7 percent of patients attended are women. There was no statistically significant correlation between oral hygiene status and partial Edentulism (P equal 0.001), inferring that oral hygiene status deteriorates as partial Edentulism increases, and when evaluating the mean ESE score according to Edentulism, there was no Significant differences during the association or in the Chi-square test (p equal 0.564). Conclusion: The results conclude that there is no relationship between the socioeconomic level and the partial Edentulism of the evaluated population.
