This Project presents the evaluation of urban soundscapes in a university environment. To identify student’s preferences about soundscapes’ outcomes is the main objective. Also, processes such as sound recording, composition, mixing, and edition are explained in order to produce eight soundscapes that include native sounds of Imbabura and Pichincha provinces of Ecuador. Furthermore, a survey is designed to collect not only noise sensibility, demography and socio economic data but also personal opinions about the soundscapes’ quality and sound source identifying for each of them. Some results are obtained thanks to IBM SPSS Statistics Software and ANOVA analysis. 93 surveys were filled at Patio de las Culturas in Universidad de las Américas on Wednesday 27th in April. The 87.9% of the surveyed are among 16 to 25 years old, 88% are single and 78% are studying on a collage. Surveyed preferences about soundscapes’ outcomes are: clarity (51.5%), comfort (60%), emotion (51.5%), harmony (72.2%), naturalness (61.1%), tranquility (72.2%), and relax (68.9%). Some noise illness symptoms are: desconcentration (72.7%), irritability (54.4%), and headache (61.9%) for woman; and desconcentration (71.0%), irritability (72.5%), and stress (65.2%) for men. Related to soundscapes general description, most of the sound sources were identified correctly, also factors such as tranquil, pleasant and calm are used to qualify half of the total number of soundscapes; and factors like annoying, varied or chaotic are used to qualify the other ones. Moreover, major of the eight soundscapes are qualified as “Very good” and “good”. On the other hand, noise sensibility influence the major of the outcomes included.en
