Resumen : Se condujo una investigación cualitativa realizando entrevistas semi estructuradas a siete personas homosexuales de la ciudad de Quito entre las edades de 20-40 años utilizado el método bola de nieve. Para identificar el proceso de revelación de su orientación sexual a su familia, los cambios que existieron al momento de revelar la noticia y analizar la crisis familiar que emerge a partir de la salida del closet. Se encontró que al momento de revelar la noticia existe rechazo por parte de la familia, actitudes negativas y un corte comunicacional. Además de un proceso donde existen emociones tales como tristeza, rabia, culpa, duelo y negación al momento de revelar la noticia. Con este estudio tenemos una aproximación más hacia el contexto ecuatoriano sobre la relación familiar a partir de la noticia de la orientación sexual de los hombres gay de Quito. Además este estudio puede ser un insumo para posibles proyectos con familiares de la población LGBTI (lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transexuales e intersexuales) para fomentar relaciones familiares saludables.
Descripción : A qualitative research was conducted by performing semi-structured interviews to seven gay guys of the city of Quito between the ages of 20-40 years. The method was snowball. To identify the disclosure process sexual orientation of his family, changes that existed at the time of the news and analyze the crisis emerge familiar from the coming out. It was found that when the news reveals the first rejection by family was negative attitudes and a communicational break. In addition to an emotions process where there are tales of how sadness, anger, guilt, grief and denial in revealing the news. With this study we have an approach more towards the Ecuadorian context about the relationship familiar from the news of the sexual orientation of gay men in Quito. This study: It may also be input to a projects possible relatives of the LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex) population for promoting healthy family relations.
