dc.description | The purpose of this investigation was to establish the absence of the first permanent molar, in the Dental Care Center at the University of the Americas. The method used for the investigation was the clinical diagnosis and direct where the loss of teeth number six was evaluated in a total of 100 patients. The study includes patients older than 6 years of age and older. The parameters to be evaluated were: gender, cause, age and absent tooth. The findings from the evaluation found that; the most representative cause of loss of the first permanent molar is caused by caries, 91 percent from other causes. With regard to gender, 59 percent in women, while in males 41percent, was observed in the number of pieces losses by gender presented in the 41 men served there 90 first lost molars interpreted with (42 percent) and women lost first molars with 123 (58 percent). This corresponds to age, there is a higher prevalence of loss to 27 years in both genders. According to its location it was shown that the absence of the first permanent molar is the fourth quadrant of the oral cavity (item 46). By relating the variables; gender and cause, it was observed that in females, there is a dental loss of 96 percent and men a percentage of 83 percent, the most representative cause tooth decay, tooth loss, for both genders. | en |
