dc.description | Restorative Dentistry studies and treats problems related to teeth supporting structure loss caused by cavities, trauma or other dental tissue disorders. It restores teeth functions and aesthetics. Nanoparticle-reinforced resin-based dental composites are widely used in daily practice even beyond direct restoration techniques. An expired Nanoparticle-reinforced resin-based dental composite (Filkek Z350) was used in an in vitro study to evaluate its compression behavior. According to ISO 4049 standards, 10 testing specimens were created for each experimental group to build the testing cylinders. A plasma cutter was used over a 6mm thick transparent acrylic plank to drill 3mm diameter holes. The acrylic plank was then placed over a glass surface and the holes were filled with the resin composite in two layers. Each layer was photo-activated using a halogen lamp in 20 second intervals. Then the resin composite cylinders were slided from the acrylic plank. Each testing specimen went through a compression test applying a fixed 1mm/min speed until it fails or fractures and Data was later analyzed using Student’s T-Test obtaining the following results. | en |
