| Resumen : | La preservación de la paz y seguridad mundiales se han convertido en una de las mayores prioridades y desafíos que enfrentan en la actualidad todos los gobiernos alrededor del mundo. En la búsqueda de implementar herramientas más eficaces para generar una amplia gama de opciones a las partes que se encuentran inmiscuidas en un conflicto internacional y con el objetivo de evitar que estos mismos conflictos se propaguen con mayor facilidad y aumenten el riesgo de una posible guerra, se ha formulado la noción de Diplomacia Preventiva. En este trabajo se explica detalladamente cuál es la importancia e incidencia de esta herramienta utilizada en especial por las Naciones Unidas y otros organismos internacionales para prevenir conflictos. | Descripción : | The preservation of global peace and security has become one of the major priorities and challenges currently facing all governments around the world. The notion of preventive diplomacy has been formulated in the pursuit of implementing more effective tools to generate a wider range of options to the parties in an international conflict and with the aim of avoiding these same conflicts to spread more easily and increase the risk of a possible war. This work explains in detail what is the importance and impact of this tool particularly used by the United Nations and other international organizations to prevent conflicts. Chapter 1 is specifically related to the evolution of armed conflicts, their causes and triggers, nature and changing dynamics in the current scenario. The second chapter begins with the background of preventive diplomacy; here we discussed the attempts to establish a reliable and inclusive organization provided with the necessary resources to face the threats of security and peace in the international arena.
