| Descripción : | Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease which cause a serious health problem in human, domestic animals and wildlife. This study was conducted with the aim to determine the presence of tuberculin reactions caused by micobacteria in primates and felines kept in captivity at Guayllabamba Zoo, and analysis the relationship with risk factors. In total, 29 individuals were included, from them, 4 were felines and 25 primates with different ages, quarantined and exhibitors. To diagnose, it was used a simple tuberculine test in primates, and the comparative cervical test in felines. The results showed that 12% were positive to the tuberculin test in primates, with the reading at 24 and 48 hours post-inoculation. In felines, there was no any positive reaction. The risk factor analysis showed that the origin of the animal, source of food, animal age can be influence the skin test...See attached file |
