Descripción : In present project the main objective is to reduce the loads for surfactants, COD, total suspended solids and hydrocarbons in wastewater from washing geomembrane used for bioremediation of hydrocarbon. It is for this reason that in Recilago facilities, located in the province of Sucumbíos, city of Lago Agrio, the quality of water from washing was analyzed in order to establish the concentration loads of the aforementioned parameters. Subsequently the potential treatment processes were identify with the aim to achieve the best result in the removal efficiency of the pollutants identified, therefore a pilot plant was implemented to evaluate the efficiency in an specify treatment process, which was selected from the literature. The processes chosen to determine the removal efficiency of pollutants, were 3: primary settling tank (E1), secondary sedimentary Tank (E2), Activated carbon filter (E3) .To analyze the efficiency of the pilot WWTP three stages were taken, where each treatment block had different hydraulic retention times from each one of the stages. In the first block, the total hydraulic retention time was 3 hours, which includes step E1 (1 hour); E2 (1 hour); E3 (1 hour), the second block, the total hydraulic retention time was 6 hours, E1 (2 hours); E2 (2 hours); E3 (2 hours) and the third block had total retention time of 7 hours, E1 (4 hours); E2 (2 hours); E3 (1 hour). After obtaining the results of the physical and chemical characterization of the wastewater taking into account the concentrations of surfactants, COD, total suspended solids and total hydrocarbons. It was found that the best treatment efficiency was obtained with the block 3, for a total retention time of 7 hours.
