Descripción : The current research is on assessment of the degradation capacity and bioremediation action of bacteria in soils with traces of pesticides from Florícola Pencaflor, located in Urcuquí canton, Imbabura province. The study consisted in isolating bacteria brought from a greenhouse soil, where bacteria were identified through biochemical tests with the following result: Pseudomona putida, Acinetobacter sp. and Arthrobacter sp. Afterwards, experimentation was conducted in two phases, laboratory scale (liquid phase) and ex situ bioremediation through bioaccumulation (solid phase). In the laboratory phase, degradation was tested through bio-reactants experimentation, where the bacterium on mineral and pesticide milieu. In ex situ bioremediation phase through bioaccumulation, the soil was sterilized and dried; afterwards, humidity was added in the same percentage of lost humidity was added; humidity comprises the mineral means, bacterium and pesticide. Pesticide degradation was verified through bacterial growth, thus the only carbon source was pesticides. The 3 counting methods were: Spectrophotometer, Neubauer camera and Colonies Forming Unit. Results indicated that the bacterial consortium showed higher bacterial growth and higher bioremediation capacity. The pesticide with more biodegradation capacity was Cleaner pesticide, made-up by Cyhalofop Butyl as the active ingredient. The most efficient method for bacterial growth was the solid one and the best counting equipment was spectrometer. In order to test pesticide degradation, a liquid chromatography analysis and spectrometry of treated soil was used. The result was biodegradation of approximately 100 percent of the pesticide, because no traces were detected due to low concentration.
