The main topic is the adaptation of a Shuar mythology tale. The twenty-minute short film is a narration of how Etsa, the Sun Warrior, defeats Iwia, the demon that tormented the jungle and its inhabitants. The main purpose of this paper is to make a different side of the Shuar culture known, especially among kids in the city of Quito. The moral of the tale is to fight and to work for the conservation of the rain forest to benefit the future generations. To develop this paper information was gathered and received directly from the Shuar community, which means a field investigation took place. This project has four chapters, which explain how to make a short film, and on that purpose, the tale of “Etsa, the Sun Warrior” was picked. This paper can be used as a tool to spread the knowledge of a part of the mythology of one of the many Amazonas’ Indigenous Nationalities, the Shuar, one of the most ancient cultures of Ecuador and that despite of the time they keep the traditions, mythology and believes intact. It is well know that Spanish Conquistadors could not subdue this native Ecuadorians.en
