Descripción : Objective; To know the functional sequelae and quality of life of patients with Covid 19 after hospital discharge in a private hospital in Quito. Materials and methods A retrospective and cross sectional descriptive observational retrospective study was performed. Where data were collected from patients with a diagnosis of Covid 19 who were discharged from hospital discharged from the hospitalization area. Results; Out of a total of 21 participants included in the analysis, 7 33.3 percent were female and the median age of the sample was 54 RIQ 40 63 years. Arterial hypertension and obesity were the most prevalent antecedents. The median hospital stay was 8 RIQ 3 19.5 days. Of the total, 6 28.6 percent patients required MRA and ICU admission. After hospital discharge, a 30 day evaluation was performed to determine their functional capacity and potential motor and respiratory compromise and quality of life. Regarding the activities performed post hospitalization, 20 95.2 percent of the total patients evaluated reported having continued with the respiratory exercises performed during hospitalization. Sixteen 76.2 percent reported walking and 10 47.6 percent participated in a Respiratory Rehabilitation program. Conclusión; While it is true that the sequelae of patients with Covid 19 who required hospitalization are still uncertain and it remains clear that the persistence of clinical manifestations, their magnitude, impact on the patient´s life and health have not yet been precisely defined. In this study it was evident that the patients suffered a minimal deficit with respect to the function of the scales applied, putting all of them as candidates for a respiratory rehabilitation program with schemes focused on improving the quality of life and their response to physical exertion, to minimize the impact of post covid sequelae that could occur in the long term.
