Aims. To determine the knowledge, attitude and practices of temporomandibular dysfunction of the postgraduate students of the Prosthodontics speciality. Background. The temporomandibular joint is a complex facial structure considered ginglimo-arthrodial, because it allows hinge and sliding movements, when the normal functionality of the joint is altered, it is triggered in pathologies known as temporomandibular dysfunction, being multifactorial in nature that includes problems related to chewing , musculature, temporomandibular joint and associated structures, its study has been of great interest among researchers because it is an important health problem in the population. The importance of knowing normality and abnormality leads us to the ability to distinguish this pathology in its initial, middle or severe states. Ignorance of this area of dentistry causes difficulty in detecting these disorders, which leads to the patient being treated in its most advanced stages. Materials and methods. The study population was 71 students from different semesters of the Oral Rehabilitation postgraduate course at the University of Las Américas, to whom a questionnaire was sent electronically so that it could be answered and forwarded, the questionnaire consisted of 16 questions covering knowledge, attitude and practices of temporomandibular dysfunction. Once the questionnaires were compiled, the scores were analyzed as follows, in the knowledge section it was classified as low, high, good and fair. In the attitude section the subjects were categorized as negative, questionable and positive. Results: The results of knowledge and attitude are analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis and Chi square tests, finding that there is no significant difference in the scores between the surveyed groups, being a good and fair knowledge in general, with respect to the therapeutic action, they demonstrated little confidence and feel the need for more experts in the area. Conclusions: as a conclusion, it can be established in this study that dentists in the postgraduate training process feel the need for a reinforcement in the knowledge and discussion panels regarding temporomandibular dysfunction.en
